When I completed the program, my support team congratulated me on how far I made progress, some people told me that I was on my final stages when I was admitted at the center. One nurse said that I looked like I had been through chemotherapy because the alcohol and drugs had taken over my body so deeply. I was hopeless, desperate and could not even think about if there was a way for me to overcome my addiction. My family intervened in the nick of time.
My wife was almost ready to leave me, our two children lived in fear of me, and the alcohol had become the only thing that I could count on to make me feel better.
